Waverley Singers

For this concert of music by Fauré in the spectacular setting of the crypt of the Basilica , we performed alongside the Ensemble Vocal Gabriel Fauré of Lisieux, Conductor Annie Duchemin, a local French choir with whom we had rehearsed briefly on the evening of our arrival in Lisieux. They performed the Messe des Pêcheurs de Villerville, joined us for the Cantique de Jean Racine, and some of them also joined us for the Requiem.
Afterwards we repaired upstairs and under the dome of the Basilica gave an impromptu performance of Gibbons' Drop, Drop, Slow Teares, which can be viewed on our YouTube channel (see below). The echo after the final chord was counted by Richard and was 9 seconds long!
